Default Values for CRM Fields

Overview

Default values for CRM fields can be configured in the Parsing Options section of the Options page.

The default value is only applied during profile creation if no data is available for the specified field.

Example

Let’s say you have a Pipedrive "City" field. You map the "City" LinkedIn field to this Pipedrive field and set a default value like "No City in LinkedIn."

If the LinkedIn profile contains a city, LinkMatch will parse the city (e.g., New York, London) into the Pipedrive "City" field.

If the LinkedIn profile does not contain a city, the default value "No City in LinkedIn" will be parsed into your CRM.

Use Cases

Location Tracking for Recruitment
In recruitment, having city information helps with candidate filtering, especially if location matters for the position. Setting a default value like "No City in LinkedIn" ensures that no profiles are left with an empty field, which can complicate search results or tracking.

Sales and Territory Management
For sales teams using location-based assignments, having city information is critical. If the city is missing on LinkedIn, the default value "No City in LinkedIn" can be a placeholder, letting sales teams focus on contacting people with verified location data while following up later on others.

Company Field for Sales
For sales teams, setting a default value in the "Company" field ensures that even if a LinkedIn profile doesn't provide a current company, you'll have placeholder text like "No company provided" to work with. This allows you to continue tracking contacts in your CRM without missing crucial information, keeping your sales funnel organised.
